When Will Pickleball Make Its Olympic Debut?
Plus, a simple breathwork tip to overcome performance anxiety

Pickleball is on track to become an Olympic sport by 2032. But what are the chances of it actually happening?

Here’s what Pickleball already has in its favor for Olympic eligibility:
✅ An international governing body
✅ Widespread play across four continents
✅ Widespread play across 75+ countries
So, what’s holding it back from reaching the Olympic stage?
❌ The Olympic Committee only adds new sports by removing others. For example, breakdancing will debut in Paris 2024, replacing baseball.
❌ Pickleball must be admitted to the Olympic lineup seven years before the Games, meaning it could be added for 2032.
❌ Pickleball must enforce the Olympic anti-doping code, a likely progression for the sport.
There's still work to do, but Pickleball’s growing popularity has it on the right track for the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane.
Did You Know? The most common injury in Pickleball is a sprained ankle!
Quick lateral movements, sudden stops, and changes in direction put significant pressure on your ankles. Mobility training can help prevent this injury by improving coordination, stability, and strength around the ankle joint.
Here are two daily ankle mobility exercises to get you started!
1. Single Leg Calf Raise
2. Half-Knee Ankle Mobility

Imagine you’re a Navy SEAL about to embark on a high-stakes mission.
Your heart is pounding, you're sweating, and your mind is racing.
How do you calm down and focus on the task at hand?
The answer: Breathwork!
The autonomic nervous system is divided into the sympathetic (fight-or-flight) and parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) systems. Stress activates the sympathetic system, dramatically increasing heart rate. Slow, deep breathing engages the parasympathetic system, promoting calmness.
While Pickleball isn’t life or death, performance anxiety is still very real. Next time you feel nervous before or during a big match, try this breathwork technique to slow your heart rate down.
Find a comfortable place to sit.
Close your eyes and focus on your breath.
Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of 4.
Hold your breath for a count of 2.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of 8.
Repeat for 2-3 minutes.
There are other breathwork techniques that can improve your focus, boost energy, or help you unwind from stress. Download the AIM7 app today, and learn how to adjust your mental state in real-time.
